Weekend Family Camp

September 29 - October 1

Flying Horse Farms is for campers who can only participate in camps that provide medical support. Campers should be able to communicate their needs in some way. Campers should be able to participate and function in a group setting, although we can accommodate some limitations. The camp’s medical policies are designed to accommodate campers so they can participate in camp activities to the maximum extent in order to get the most from their time at camp. At this time, camp assignments are made after careful evaluation by our program, medical, and psychosocial teams. Applications are reviewed and acceptance is based on space, health care needs and staffing ratios. While we try our best to accommodate everyone, our first priority is the health and safety of our campers.

General Family Camps serve children ages 7-15 with a serious medical illness and their immediate family members. (Flying Horse Farms allows families to define their own immediate family.) “Sidekick” volunteers join each family and help families enjoy camp to the fullest. Campers stay in a cabin with their family members and will have the option of participating in activities such as archery, boating, fishing, arts and crafts, nature, and sports and recreation throughout the weekend. As part of our commitment to safety, all guests age 18+ will be screened through the National Sex Offender Registry on an annual basis.

We ask that families only attend one family camp per year in the spring or fall. We are happy to put your name on the waitlist for a second session but would like to serve as many families as possible.
